Hi Folks,
Well its nearly time to depart, now our bottom is
scrubbed and has a nice coppery bot again, we went off to the town to do our
last minuet shop and clear out from French Polynesia , on arrival all the power
on the island was down so that meant no money from the ATM , no food from the
supermarket because all the card machines are down, and even if you did have
money you couldn't buy and fruit or veg because the electronic scales didn't
work !
Anyway we gave up and went back to the boat, Ike on
Rhythm had anchored near the water dock at "Bloody Mary's" so we took our
drinking water canisters over and filled them only to find that his anchor winch
had finally died and that he was stuck there until he could fix the motor , they
worked on it for the rest of the day but did not complete the repair so spent a
restless night 20m off the reef edge , we stood by on 16 but no high winds so
all was well.
The wind died in the evening so we managed to
get our twin head sails up ready for the off on Sunday, today's mission is to
have a re run of yesterday and get the last minuet shop done and tidy the boat
away for sea .. destination Tonga ..
