Hi Folks,

We departed Cooks bay ( Moorea) at 13:30 p.m. for the next Island 90 miles away called Huahine its in the island chain which includes Bora Bora which is some 45 miles to the west.
We set off with perfect trade winds, 15 to 20 knots blowing from an easterly direction and for a change in the Pacific it did , we set the fore sail out on the spinnaker pole and just sat back , set the course and off we went, our user friendly watch system of two on six off meant that we had a good nights sleeps as we were wafted along by the trades to our destination, the moon was so bright last night that it was almost like daylight , so no star gazing just a bright moon lit night .
We arrived off the southern tip of the Island at 06:00 and made our way up the west side as far as we could with the down wind rig, 4 miles to go and we ran out of puff , could not be arsed to de-rig the pole system, the batteries needed a charge after the auto pilot had been on all night, so we switched on " Geoff " and he glided us the rest of the way to the anchorage, once again the French do a really great job of marking the reef channels I wonder if this will be the case in Tonga .. they don't have EU funding !
Arrived at the anchor at 09:00 hook down again in 20m of water , then tidy all the various lines away and put the druids up , this is the affectionate name we have for our wind scoops over the hatches, pic to follow , yes there will be photos in the next few days as we have limited internet access here .
Rhythm arrived in the early afternoon, so we had a chin wag late afternoon comparing notes on the journey and discussing filling dive bottles, a hot topic at the moment as the fill charge is extortionate , should have bought a compressor !

A fully anchored crew !gggggggggg
