Day Six

A day of minor chores onboard took up the morning , lots of little jobs that needed doing , mast check , adjust the boom vang washers, repair leak in window, oil to gear box, look at photos from dive and general ones and save to hard drive ect .
In the afternoon we walked some two miles across the lava fields to a inland gash in the landscape which has a fresh and saltwater lake in a raven it is connected to the sea via the lave tubes , it was a pleasant swim after the treck across the lava fields which can only be described as rough terrain , its a mass of broken, sharp rocks strewn all over the place with cactus trees growing up through the spaces , its very dry so quite how they survive I don't know .
We returned to a local beach which is covered in white sand , spotted a few sea Iguanas lounging on the logs ,they weren't interested in going for a swim though as we hoped to get some footage on the video.
Returned to the boat late afternoon ,Rob , Ruth  and myself then  scrubbed the green algae which has grown on the side of the boat off as far below the waterline as possible prior to scrubbing the hull for a slip steam ride to the Marquises
Contacted Ike on Rhythm , still in the 4 MHz band at 800 nm off from the Galapagos all is well onboard and they are making slow progress due to lack of wind and tide .

Well that's all for today folks
