There has been a different feel about the weather and the sea overnight. The sea is now rolling in on our starboard quarter at a steady force five, the sky is a grey and the sea dark blue-grey. We are creaming along in a slow corkscrew as the stern lifts and swings round, the sea rolls under from behind and slips out ahead. It got up a bit last night and for a novice it is an exciting ride in the dark. The sea phosphoresces wherever it is disturbed. The breaking waves and particularly the water running down the sides glows brightly but this glow didn't register at all when I tried to get a photo of it.
Most of the time we have had good to very good sailing, we even had the spinnaker out for several hours one day. It may not sound much to you but last night we got up to nine knots and that feels fast in the crashing darkness.
Touch wood, we seem to have our sea legs and feel fine.
