Damp and foggy

I am having (even by my standards) a lazy morning. The night was peaceful - up as usual for a while at midnight and then briefly at 0400. Even though the wind was dropping I left the sails reefed so although a bit slow it was quiet and comfortable. I slept again until about 0545 when the AIS warned me of a ship - nothing to worry about as closest point of approach 4.5 miles. It has been a damp and foggy night so most us inviting but I dressed up and set full sail then idly went back for another hours kip.

Now I have a cup of tea at my side and the porridge is ready to serve. Unfortunately the wind which is W at the moment is forecast to back SW and increase again, possibly to Force 6 so it will be absolutely on my nose....

Still I have sailed 511 miles now and 645 to go. It is surprising (to me anyway) that I am on the latitude of the N Spanish coast, a couple of hundred miles W of La Coruna but not yet half way.

That porridge needs to get inside me!

Peter
