The longest day

This could be the longest day, we are less than 90miles from Rodney Bay. Trying to calculate when we will see land, St Lucia has a mountain at 950m. Tom i think is very excited about the fact he may get to say “Land Ho”. It however may be dark by the time we get close enough to spot land. A busy day so far, 1 gype and one sail change. It’s a good job we don’t have a dedicated skipper on board, 2 hours of lets go this way, no lets go this way, with no charts or a plot going on, it was looking like we were just going to hit St Lucia at some random point on the East coast, or have to ask for direction from Martinique. I quietly sat down below and worked up my star sights I’d taken this morning, that way we at least would have a plotting sheet with a plot on it. Not a good sight this morning, as was a little late due to the gybe in the dark first thing this morning. Fenders being pumped up at the moment. |
