Well we and the rest of the fleet ran out of wind, listening to the fleet on the SSB net a lot had given up and had their engines on, and were discussing the penalties for running the engine in the race (opps it’s not a race) results. It’s an honesty declaration on how long you ran under engine, so Richard is paranoid that everyone will cheat.

We grinded to a halt towards the late afternoon, which gave Richard a chance to go up the mast at sea. An experience worth having (character building). I of course have now lost count of the number of times up the mast I’ve been at sea. There was much swearing, and perhaps some of you may have heard him shouting in the uk.

Someone had put some more money in the meter and the wind returned to us before dusk, and we were back under sail and heading in the right direction, and at a reasonable speed.
