Sitting in Lymington Yacht Haven in the rain, it's turning out to be a rather more typical British summer than seemed to be the case a few months ago. I am sitting on Allegria my new Southerly 480 all ready, or nearly all ready, to start another adventure. The title of the blog should therefore be changed to the Adventures of Allegria but it is simpler to continue with the same blog, so don't get confused. It was in a very mad moment that I decided to sell Christine and buy a larger boat and so here we are ready to set off again. The we this time is myself together with Lynn who I think is feeling some trepidation at the thought of the long passages ahead. Also on board are Sue and Terry Reeve who, I hope, are looking forward to the adventure of a lifetime. They have joined us for the passage to the Canary Islands, in preparation for the ARC to St Lucia, and will be continuing across the Atlantic and spending a short time in the Caribbean.

After what has seemed like months of preparation and sorting of the new boat the aim today is to cast off and sail to Studland Bay and then tomorrow off across the Channel to Alderney.

I'm sure all will be well.
