All together now..."We're off to see The
Lizard...." which as I tripe, is a mere 16 miles away. Once
round the corner, it is a mere 62 miles to Plymouth and Sutton Harbour
Marina.
Morale amongst the crew is higher than it has
been. Particularly so in my case as it seems my predicted ETA of 2 June -
morning - might be bang on. rookie crew luck.
Everything has become more interesting - we are
dodging yachts making their way across to France to take part in the "Solo Round
the World Something" (this is a direct quote from Manuela, who, being French ,
must be right). M and I had a hairy moment on our recently concluded watch
when a Dutch tanker decided to go for broke and charge across our bow in a very
unsporting fashion. For that, read too close for our comfort, even if he
was going like a train. Some very un-nautical terms followed his
wake.
We also had my first sight of the Scilly
Isles. The first sight of land in 22 days was excitement whatever it was
called.
So, an early morning navigation of the Marina lock
and then a hunt for our berth and that will be it. When do I get my Blue
Peter Badge Skip?
Ta Daa - the bottle of fizz purchased in Bermuda at
the start of our voyage (not counting the 6 day Puerto Rico-Bermuda warm up) has
now gone into the fridge for celebratory consumption. Cheers!
