Oh the trials and tribulations of a Galley Slave; firstly, things just don't stay put....and as the sailing fraternity knows, your cooker is on a swing/swivel anyway....and so are you, the angle of dangle  depending on the weather ...so you just have to hope both you, the oven and hob, the pans, and more to the point, what these pans contain - are on 'an even keel'. (Ah, so that's what the phrase means then?).

As previously advised, we had a seriously dodgy moment when the tin opener broke - since tins it will be if this foggy weather/lack of wind combo continues.
This evening however, I was faced with a somewhat different challenge - when a small bird flew into the cockpit, down the hatch and into the saucepan I had just put a glug of olive oil into.
He hopped up and down a bit looking quite unperturbed, whist I had a small case of hysterics as he definitely was not on the menu................ Not tonight.

Just thought I'd share that one....now getting ready for 9pm-midnight shift.

If you could please ask the weather Gods to send  us some wind to get us on our way we would all be grateful.....
