When i signed up it was for pleasant downwind
sailing under azure skies. now i have been very tolerant on the sky tint so far
as i can see that nature has been doing its best, even the occasional jolly slap
of a wave across the deck was regarded as pure impudence. However 30 knots on
the nose with repeated soakings all through the night, is taking my tolerance
for granted! Seriously we had a bit of a wet night and it really reminded us of
conditions in the channel and made us pine for those halcyon days back in the
Caribbean with blue seas and skies and any splashes are at least warm! Everyone
knuckled down to it, but you know you are on the way to the UK when there is the
appearance of full oillies and boots on deck. Manuela even did hot chocolate
drinks for everyone! So sorry no pictures today.
