0700 just now and I came on watch at 0600. This is
the best rotation for me as I was on 2100 to midnight so some good sleep until
0530 this morning. Progress is very slow, 2 to 3 knots only so at this speed it
will take an awfully long time to get to the UK. Never mind, this was
forecast and we are expecting to see some more wind within the next 12 hours. We
are going in the right direction.
Last night's watch was magical. The sea was
quite gentle although there was a swell
of perhaps 2- 3 feet rolling us about a bit. The sky was clear and we have no
moon at the moment until very late in the night so the night was dark, the stars
were clear with the milky way stretching right across the sky. We were doing
about 3 knots at the time and there were streams of phosphorescent sparkles
trailing off the stern, stirred up by our wake. Quite regularly there was a ball
of phosphorescence which presumably was a jelly fish trailing by. I felt there
was no better place to be, absolutely fantastic. An experience not to be
missed.
Nevertheless hopefully we will get some wind soon
and we will be on our way. Skip.
