Well the front came through as expected with the
change in the wind direction to a cold northerly. It blew at 25 knots gusting 30
rather than the 20 knots we were expecting. Gradually it abated during the day.
The result was some very good progress all through the night and yesterday.
Nothing seems to last around here though as the next high pressure centre caught
us up so we have had very light head winds since about 2am this morning local
time. Hence the engine has now been on for close to 7 hours and we expect a few
more yet before the southerly fills in and hopefully we will achieve some more
speed.
It did give us some more wonderful star gazing
opportunity overnight until clouds filled in around dawn. Yet again it reminds
me of how marvellous it is and who cares about he trials and tribulations needed
to get here.  P
