The Mill Pond
Plenty of interesting cloud formations to study.
Has an ocean ever been as quiet and still as this? Before we came we didn't think it was possible.

We will shortly have been motoring for 30 hours in a generally south east direction, as I said so we can hedge our bets between heading for St Lucia and going south in the hope of finding wind. We are motoring very slowly in order to use the diesel as efficiently as possible. We can continue for perhaps another 24 or 30 hours by which time we will have used half our fuel. At present we are only one third of the way across so after that time we will have to consider our options as to how long we should continue to motor.

Anyway, it isn't all bad. With the engine running we have plenty of electricity, and with the watermaker plenty of water, heated by the engine. So plenty of showers which I think are going to be essential as it is now getting quite warm. And anyway who wants to be in St Lucia at Christmas, I'm sure we will be there before New Year (Joke!)

We just need a good book to enable us to understand the clouds.

Skipper.
