So here we are on a beam reach cruising along at 7 knots with 250 miles completed.  However,, it took two spells of motoring before we found this consistent wind - we just have to hope that the weather forecast is correct for the next 4 days, and that, by the time we are halfway across,  conditions in the Caribbean Atlantic will have improved (i.e. more wind). Anyway, halfway across is well beyond our time horizon just now.

So far life has been uneventful, we met the locals briefly - first a pilot whale and today some dolphins came past.  Unfortunately, they didn't stay long enough to pose for a photo.

We are now halfway through the food prepared before departure with stew the first day and pasta al Ragu on day two.  It has become a race against time with the fruit.  the mangos were wonderful and the half pineapple excellent after the lunchtime soup (home made of course, and strangely similar to a diluted liquidized stew) and salad.  Bananas are more of a challenge.  The reassurance that the green bananas would last is no longer convincing since they are already over ripe and need eating.

The other yachts are gradually disappearing, initially it required constant lookup while now there are a just couple on the horizon with others still in AIS range.

Signing off for today,
