Well we have had to accept the change from 50 shades of blue (including azure) seas to 50 shades of grey - but that should mean we will recognise The Solent at least.

Today's highlight thus far has been the sighting of a small pod of what we think were Pilot Whales...our dolphin pals have deserted us for now.

The brilliantly uplifting thought is that we are a mere 845 nautical miles from our destination....it would be great to pitch up in Plymouth Sutton Harbour Marina on or about 31 May as Nigel is confidently predicting, but the wind has dropped yet again.  We are running a book between us to guess the ETA but bets are being hedged on a daily basis.  Distinct lack of prize info too maybe the reason (the suggestion that the winner buys the first round doesn't seem  be an incentive - it having been a 'dry' boat since we left that is not surprising - think of the cost of the tab!)

Dispatches will be posted as we have a clearer idea of our grand arrival, just so the Marching Band has time to tune up and the Fireworks Display  primed ready for action.  Failing that, decent hot showers at the Marina would be appreciated, and aforementioned Watering Hole of course.

We are ambling along nicely just now....having.had a few really good bursts on the banjo*** in terms of speed and a few frankly antisocial passages...you'd be amazed just how far one cup of coffee can be hurled...and the timing of spoon to mouth must be very finely judged. I am astonished we are not awarding prizes for the best 'dinner medals' at this stage.
*** an underused nautical term to my way of thinking.

Apologies for drivel, Ian, our more 'poetic' scribe has declined, for the moment, to blog.   His muse must be otherwise engaged.  Anyway, he is peeling onions.  Oh the glamour and excitement of this yachting malarkey.

Bye the noo....Lx
