With just 45 miles to go to Bermuda we can start to anticipate the landfall. Today will be the most beautiful day of the week's travel. Now at 0800 the sun is shining, the sea quite calm and there is a gentle breeze on the starboard beam propelling us quietly along at about 5 knots, if we are  lucky. We have the full mainsail and the genniker flying and this is sailing at it's best. The only difficulty of the day is that we will probably arrive in St Georges, Bermuda after dark this evening.

The trip as a whole can probably be best described a 'trying'. The first day was exciting sailing on a reach at 7 knots but in a very bumpy sea, not the best combination for the first day out. This gradually changed to a broad reach with little wind so we had the best part of 2 days slatting around, going in not quite the right direction rather slowly and bouncing around all over the place. After torrential rain the wind finally returned so we were beating into it, all 25knots, and still not quite making the right course. Gradually the wind has veered and dropped which leaves us here. Fantastic sailing and now just 44 miles to go.
