I arrived back on board Christine last night with Sean Brennan who will be with me all the way to Lagos in the Algarve. We have flights booked out of Faro on the 28th July so we will have to make good progress as there is not too much spare time if we are to do the journey by day sailing.

The taxi ride from La Coruna airport was an interesting journey as the driver was very poor at reading the road which on very winding roads was a bit scary. He didn't actually know the route either and nearly took the wrong road several times until he finally did take the wrong one which resulted in an extra 10 kilometers or so. As we approached Ria Muros we could see a dense bank of fog all along the coast, and hanging in the valleys. Thankfully the weather is better today although gloomy and cool.

There is just a light southerly breeze which is not what we wanted so having motored for about 2 hours and having a go at sailing close hauled for an hour and a half, while we also had lunch, we are now motoring again so at least we are making the course for Bayonne. Lunch was pasta with a cobbled together sauce as we forgot to buy the bread for the sandwiches.

So today will be just a question of getting some miles under our belt to keep on schedule for Lagos.
