We left Ibiza yesterday at about 10 AM after stowing all the gear we had used over the last couple of days. Following the blow out we had relatively high seas but a nice 15 to 20 kt breeze on a beam reach. After tweaking up the sails we were able to do almost 7 kts. which lasted almost three hours. About sun set we lost all our wind and had to turn on the motor again. It has been thumping away since then. Lots of big ship traffic the closer we get to Cartagena which seems to be the turn northward out of the Gibraltar straight for a lot of traffic.

We have decided to just keep going to Almeria rather than put in at Cartagena. There is a lot to do once we get there so an extra day of slack time will come in handy even if we just sit around a little after the two day passage.

We are starting to run low on fresh food... about one more pot of fresh Columbian coffee left to make... two chicken breasts in the frig for tonight.... and we are down to one tank of water. If everything goes right we'll be out of everything as we pull in... 'just in time provisioning'. The temperature has dropped considerably after the blow came through. At night we are in long pants and sweats. Very comfortable below with the engine running. All is well...
