Looks like we made about 100 miles yesterday. Not bad considering we
usually reef down the main, set the stay sail, and motor at night. Fairly
comfortable night last night. Second day of a passage we all slept better
and are getting used to the watch schedule. Present course 268 COG, 7.2
kts, 16 kts or wind, broad reach, 12:00 hours to go... but this won't hold.
Last night the wind was dead on our nose and has been clocking around all
day. One weather report calls for it to be dead behind us soon. Likely
make land early tomorrow morning. I expect we will also be picking up some
current as we get nearer to the straights of Messina. All for now... it's
like a mild roller coaster ride down here at 7 plus knots.
