Arrived safely in Agregento to find no finger piers or Yacht Club as in the
pilot. There was in fact a pretty nice anchorage within the break water
surrounded by all sorts of industry and shipping. We had a great sail 6.5
kts over the ground in about 12 to 16 kts of wind, close reach. The prop
feathered and we gained at least 3/4 of a knot under sail... big deal if
your sailing a couple of hundred hours. Michael will get spoiled. This
gave us plenty of time to patch the exhaust leak which was successfully
completed on the third try in time standing on your head healed at 15
degrees. We used the engine again from about 3 AM on after out wind died.
Next issue the freshly rebuilt generator raw water pump that I paid 50 Euro
to have done seems to have quit after about 2 hours of operation. No water
out the tail pipe... maybe an intake problem? Wonder if there is a click
and clack for boaters... drip and dunk...
We are still sleeping off the effects of the overnight sail and will launch
the dingy shortly and try to find the ruins. Hope they are still here.
Hate to find a shopping center where the Greek temple of Apollo was supposed
to be. We'll also look for a vodaphone place to re-up our internet but I am
not too hopeful after Secericusa. This one will go out satellite. Next
stop either Siculiana or Marsalla... hope there is still some veal left when
we get there! More later.
