We made the anchorage at Porto Palo on the southern east tip of Sicily and are staged for the 54 mile trip to Malta. We really enjoyed Siracusa... great food and met quite a few folks. Did the ruins... great coliseum, and caves. Filled up with fuel this morning. Mary was able to book a flight out of Malta to Madrid at less than half the cost of flying out of Palermo. I called a few yards in Malta and it looks like this may be their down time with everyone in the water so if the price is right I may have some work done there in lieu of Spain as well.

Porto Palo is definitely a fishing port with 2/3 rd of the boats here trawlers and fishing boat. Mary and Michael went swimming in the Med and are cooled off. I opted for a nice hot shower. We will make dinner here and likely leave at first light in the morning... need to check the weather yet.
