We left the marina in Ayvalik the day before yesterday in a blow and rain storm around noon ... check out time and proceeded back to another anchorage for the night. Rolled out at day brake and again it was blowing about 20 kts which is unusual for that early in the morning. Had some spirited sailing 6.5 kts with reefed main and staysail. Went through a lightning storm off the point. 10 hours and 50 miles later we made Bozcaada right across from Troy and the staging port for the Greek fleet from the Iliad. We are tied stearn too the city quay along with only two other boats. Lots of ferry and ship traffic like Italy and Greece.

Starting to have trouble with the starter again. I need to have one of the lugs replaced on the cable from the battery. It is either that or the starter needs replacing. Pretty exciting when you go to start the engine because the anchor is dragging and all you get is a click click... still beats working!

There is supposed to be a gale in here Friday so we will try for another early AM forced march to Canakale about half way up the Dardanelles. It is only 20 miles away but there is supposed to be a 4 kt current comming out of there. Could be a really long day especially against a 40 kt head wind on top of the current. Worse case we'll just come back here and wait. The weather should clear after the weekend.
