We went into check out customs and passport control in Rhodes the day before we wanted to leave and were asked so many questions I was really apprehensive about ever getting to leave Greece and the EU. When we went in for the real thing we slicked right through without incident or even any extra taxes.

I was not sure how much ground we wanted to cover trying to get into Kemer. The entire trip was 140 miles. The guy at the marina in Rhodes was bugging us about when we were going to leave to the point he told us the weather was going to be bad on Monday so we had better consider leaving Sunday. I checked the weather and Monday was a cake walk. We left around 1 PM on Monday.

I was first headed originally (about 70 miles) to Kas, Turkey but we had a good breeze blowing all night and made Kas at about 3 AM. I then decided that Finike, the next port of entry, would be the place. We ended up going all the way and got in of course at night. Another night landing but there were three guys waiting to help us. One in a dingy who even secured our front lines as two guys did the rear. We will check into customs tomorrow morning.

Katie and I had a cheese burger in paradise, a beer, and then crashed some guys 80th birthday party at the marina restaurant. Tried to dance a quick one but I had land sickness so bad from being on the water for two days that the whole room was rocking for me. Great showers here but I had to hang on as everything was still moving... very impressive marina - another Bill Stellin pick... thanks Bill. More later - pretty tired after two days on the water.
