Course over the ground 282, 4 kts SOG, 6 kts of wind dead astern. We have the cruising spinnaker and the main set and are sailing pretty well without the motor. I figure even though we are a bit slower, and doing the rollie pollie spinnaker thing, we are saving about $10 per hour without running the motor.

Engineering issues: The generator raw water system keeps loosing it's prime and I have to burp it almost every time I start it. After having the raw water pump rebuilt and disturbing most of the lines, I must have a leak in the system or the pump is not sucking properly... next project. The refrigerator main motor relay is overheating. I took it apart and cleaned and remade some of the high current connections which seemed to help but it is still generating a lot of heat when the frig runs. Bad connection or low voltage?

We had a good night and were able to sail until about 10:00 PM when the wind just quit. Started the engine again and ran it through the night. Nice full moon all night. It is cooling down so that with a light cotton blanket it is great for sleeping in the cockpit. Pretty noisy and warm down below with the engine running. Very little shipping last night. This morning after sunrise the wind shifted and is now comming from behind at between 4 and 6 kts. I keep looking at the weather and it looks like we want to be off the water on the 18th... lots of red arrows then. Should be no problem but one never really knows out here.

Finished "Cross" by James Patterson a book on tape or in my case Ipod. It takes about two nights to get through one. I still have about 95 left to go... that should get me home with plenty to go. The food is holding out fine we still have several chicken breasts and at least four patties of mystery meat to eat. Plenty of saltines and cold cuts also. Last night I made chicken schnitzel, fresh string beans and rice. Had a fresh peach for desert. The Mediterranean diet! More later...
