No wonder it took Odysseus 20 years to sail back to Ithaca from. Troy! We fought the Meltemi with the weather man promising a shift...hah. We have been at sea now for about 5 days. Could only make about 2.5 kts motor sailing towered Malta. With 266 he almost half of the trip done. We were hove too when I called a passing freighter for a weather update. Several more days of the NW wind (we were seeing 35 kts at times) and the seas are forecast to be rough.

We decided to turn around and head for Sparta on the Greek coast. We'll regroup and try again from there.

Running low on fuel, radar and wind indicators are down, and the stay sail control line chafed through... Quite a surprise in the middle of the night! But all is well on board. More later.
