Hi all, we are anchored at Kekova Rhodes a neat little anchorage recommended by the folks in Kemer. (thanks Stewart & Jennie) As we were comming in a dingy hailed us. It turned out to be Bruce and Pat... Americans we met in Italy and then again in Greece. They gave us the quick rundown on where to anchor and we ended up about 5 boat lengths from them.. Went over tonight for cocktails and some catch up.

After mooring in Finike Katie found a bus to Arycanada, an old Lycian city about 45 minutes on the bus from Finike. The mini-bus was crowded to the rafters. We were in the back row the last of the real seats and there were 4 more riders in the luggage area behind us and 4 more in the isle in front of us. What exits? We got to see lots of county side for only 5 TL. Many green houses full of tomatoes, egg plant, and lots of other stuff we could not identify. We sure could have used Chris.

They let us off in front of a brown road sign that said Arycanada. The arrow pointed up a dirt road. We hiked for about 45 minutes up and up. This was a very impressive rock pile. The theater in particular was very complete with great acoustics. The whole site overlooked a set of snow covered mountains. We met a German couple who passed us in their car on the way up. They asked us why we walked all the way up here. We explained we didn't have a car and came by bus. On the way back down they still didn't offer us a ride. Mary called us while we were on the dirt road. Gotta love technology. She called a local Jacksonville number which transferred to our computer on the boat in the marina through Skype and then call forwarded to our Turkish cell phone on a dirt road in the mountains of Turkey.

A big thunder cloud was snagged by the mountain we were on and started to get us pretty wet buy the time we got to the bus stop. We hung out at the rest stop with lots of fruit stands and people stopping to fill up jugs from the water fall spring comming off the mountain and drank Turkish tea for about an hour before flagging down the retuning bus. We got back to the marina, ate on the boat and fueled up again in the morning before leaving for this anchorage. We had a pleasant motor sail in and arrived just after noon.

Both weather services we look at which usually understate the wind condition by about 10 kts. are calling for stiff winds out of the west (where we are headed) for the next couple of days. This is about as good a spot as we will find for over 50 miles in the direction we are headed so we may stay here a while.
