Moving again! John and Jenny Burwell found Katie and I in the boat yard in
Lido Ostia, Italy just outside of Rome. Making a meet in a far away place
is challenging to say the least but it went off without a hitch. Katie and
I waited a few days in the yard, took in the local sites, as it looked like
the easiest meet we could work up. We have the mosquito bites to prove it.
The yard did a great job painting the bottom of the boat and even tuning up
the outboard. The re-launch went without a hitch. See Katie's blog at :
katiesailing {CHANGE TO AT} blogspot {DOT} com for pictures and all. Katie and I went thought
the boat and lightened up where possible. We donated my bicycle and a
couple of , Good Will purchased, suit cases to the dock hands at the marina
to make more space on the boat.

I was looking for an easy first sail to shake things out and see what would
fall off the boat after being layed up for three months. We planned to be
in Nettuno unit the 7th and ended up not getting there until the 7th. We
are already behind schedule and we just started. The weather forecast said
16 kts from the SW - on our nose again. By morning the forecast had been
revised downward a few knots and I took it as a good sign so we left for
Nettuno. We clocked 28 knots and by the time we were getting close almost
everyone was getting woozy from the waves. The boat did great, no leaks yet
from the rebuilt toilet or the newly installed raw water pump. The engine
started up, there was cold beer in the frige, and the radio seemed to work.
We stayed today to duck the weather and may leave tomorrow if the waves have
laid down by then.

We checked in at the American Cemetery as a friend, Joe Otis, asked us to
find the grave site of a friends uncle Lt. Hubert Miller from Kenosha
Wisconsin shot down over Calgiari, Sardinia. We spoke to the new cemetery
Superintendent who gave us a map right to the grave and even suggested a
great cafeteria at which to have lunch. Pictures are on the way Joe.

Next stop is Circeo.
