Pipedream
Tue 12 May 2009 12:55
Arrived Seafarer's Marina March 12.  Many of the Green Cove Springs 'refugees' arrived here also over the next couple of weeks.  OK marina, good folks, marginal bathrooms, exposed to white caps blowing in from a long fetch from Blout Island.  We can see the Dames Point Bridge and the commercial cruise ships from our front porch.

Much construction on the Pipedream getting everything bolted on.  The crew is getting to know each other as we all work together.  Went sailing out of Mayport through the middle of Navy exercises and only had one ventilator fall off during the trip.  Pretty intense heavy shipping going out the St, John's from here.  The whole crew took about two weeks worth of Coast Guard Captain's prep courses from an instructor/master, David Gould, living at the Marina.  Dave also used to do Sea Base for the scouts.  Going out was like a great lab.  We were whistled at a couple of times and got to practice allot of what we had learned.  Preparations are reaching a frenzy as we approach our May 15 departure date.
