Day 11... not quite half way. The navigation computer says we are about 1575 miles from the Virgin Islands. Yesterday afternoon around 3 PM the wind started to build and we have been cruising pretty well ever since. This morning we have around 15 kts of wind from the NE and are hitting 7 kts. The seas are still relatively calm but starting to build so I thought it a good time to come down here and write a little.

Last night at grog hour we all were ruminating on how nice the day off in relatively calm seas it had been. Then last night their was almost a full moon and very bright. You couldn't see the milky way but the brighter constellations were all up there. This morning John and I were up on deck watching the sun rise when an enormous cloud of flying fish took off about three boat lengths to starboard. I wonder if it is a flock or a school of flying fish? At any rate John didn't waste any time getting the fishing lures in the water in case Mr. Big was chasing the little guys out of the water.

We seem to be in the 'slot' finally and hope conditions will stay relatively like this for the rest of the trip? hah! fat chance. All is well.
