230 degrees COG, making 4 kts under Genniker and main. Light quartering
winds 8 kts.

Still in search of the trade winds. Hopefully after we cross the 25th
parallel we will begin to feel them. Last night around midnight the wind
picked up to its present 6-8 kts. This mooring we set all sail and finally
turned off the motor. We dropped a knot or so of boat speed but conserving
fuel is getting to be an issue. Hate to use it all up in the first 5 days
out here... we'll just have to be patient. Columbus was still able to do it
in 22 days and left his motor behind... wonder if he took an extra battery
to re-magnetize the needle of his 'state-of- the-art' navigation system?

John has his fishing gear out again... the cockpit looks like a study hall
with everyone either reading or writing in journals. I am reading Game of
Thrones, George is reading Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Matt is doing a
black belt Sudoku, and John is writing up a storm in his journal.

Everyone has been sleeping really well. The temperature is almost perfect
on deck and below. Motion is a gentle 5 degree side to side roll. Last
night we feasted on med pot luck. Salami, cheese, halopina peppers, and a
new taste treat John discovered called caper berries.

We'll likely muddle along here waiting for more wind most of the day. The
wind is supposed to pick up tomorrow and as we get further south. All for
now.
