Pipedream

We left Las Palmas at about 2:00 local time and are now motor sailing out
beyond the end of Grand Canary island before setting course to take us into
the trade wind belt in a few days.

This morning was spent pre-cooking most of our fresh meat, three or four
trips to the boat store for rope, spare light bulbs, and assorted hardware.
We filled with water, squirreled away anything that could move around below,
and hit the showers for the last long one. We cleaned the head, washed the
cabin sole, swept the cockpit, and stopped at the marina office on the way
out and paid our bill. We then asked for a final word of guidance from
Oohlar... they always did that in the Iliad. I really have an appreciation
for Columbus... he made this same trip in a boat only about 16 feet longer
than Pipedream, got ready in the same place... but didn't have a clue where
he would end up or how long it would take. I think they must have invented
the term 'all you can carry'.

We are presently making 6kts in a light following wind which should pick up
in a few days. More later.
