Pipedream
Tue 10 Jan 2012 19:58
Good day today. George and I worked most of the stuff off our respective
lists getting Pipedream ready. The sailmaker stopped by with the stay sail
and is also making a brydal that I hope I never use to stream droughes or
the sea anchor.

John arrived today around dark, unloaded his gear and headed back out to the
airport to drop his rental car. George and I are waiting to go to dinner
until he takes a taxi back. Matt should be in tomorrow around 5 pm.

With John the master sheff on board, we'll begin provisioning in earnest.
Still lots of 'stuff' to put away and as more to comes on board, the boat is
getting a bit smaller. George hung a 'for sale' sign on my Turkish bicycle
and set it on the dock. I ended up just giving the last one away in Rome.
We also have half a ton on pilots and Fodors travel books that won't get
much use on this leg of the trip.

We'll start really looking at the weather tomorrow and let Matt get some
sleep after three days of traveling. I'm looking forward to a shake down
cruise to maybe Malaga and then Gibralter. The wind was clocking 28 kts
here today and the boat was bouncing a bit rearing to go. We heard from the
marine store here that the big yacht operation in Gibralter sold everything
out and is building condos like crazy there... hope we don't need much
there. More later.
