We did our first night anchorage. "Darker than the inside of my hat" as Ed Rush used to say. Our c-map electronic charts and chart plotter brought us right in spot on. Wonderful to wake up to find you are safe and sound. We are a little south of a place called Methoni, on the Peloponnesus of Greece. We will probably regroup, find some fuel, and figure out how we are going to get across to Italy and pick up Michael some place on the other side. Based on where we are now Malta may not happen this trip. I told Mary this was just an extended tack which got us quit a bit further north and makes the crossing easier with the prevailing north winds.

It was unfortunate Mary had to experience this but there is not much I can do about the weather... except sit tight. We will likely motor into Methoni just north of here and then up to Pilos where we can retroversion and wait for a weather window to cross. Sparta is was around here some place and that would be fun to see if there is still anything left. That is what I like about the Med. Dropped anywhere over here there is more culture, present and past per square inch than any other place I can think of.
