We just launched Katie in a cab to the airport in Santorini to start her 24 + hour economy flight back to Florida. We all went into Santorini on the 10:30 ferry - first one of the day. After an hour on a couple of buses we made Oia the postcard city on the north of the island. Shopped and ate our way to the little bar Katie and I found last October and all had a Methos while gaping at the truly magnificent scenery.

The island is very crowded this time. Buses are packed out. people are shoulder to shoulder on the streets and there were only two tables left in the 'Sunset Bar' at about 2 PM when we got there. Last time we were the only ones in the place. We had a great day, even with all the tears at goodby time. Mary got to see Santorini and we got to check out some possible anchorages... none look great.

The Meltemi is blowing 25 to 30 knots right now and is not supposed to let up until Wednesday or so. Seas were building nicely on our ferry ride in. We are now touching the guy that came in sideways when the big gusts come. I will do some more line adjustment tonight if the wind lets up at all. We should just move but the wind is blowing too hard all day and at night when it lets up, every available space is filled.

We are full of fuel and water but may have to wait here for a few more days until the wind drops some.
