Well we finally were able to leave Karabiga! We were weathered in there for at least three days. Had a good day's sail - beam reach with maybe 15 kts of wind. We left at dawn and ran for about 9 hours. Very cold this morning. Maybe 60 degrees on the thermometer below with almost fog and heavy wet cold. I dismissed the anchor watch (that's sea talk for Katie going back to bed) after we got going. I first went for my wool socks then a few minutes later I put on my long john bottoms, and a little after that went for the wool hat and gloves.

A bit after noon the sun broke out and it warmed up nicely. Hopefully spring has caught up to us again! We got into Cakilkoy and there are big fishing boats tied up everywhere rafted up 5 deep so we anchored up at the end of the harbor. Our French friend came in a few minutes after us. He left a few days before we did and ended up holing up in his first anchorage until the wind laid down today.

We are more or less in the Istanbul area and shopping for a marina for an extended stay. We need food, water, fuel and to do some laundry. Istanbul is so big just about any place we pick is a bus or taxi ride into town.
