A trip into town

                | Monday 9th November 2015 Brian from Darramy  offered us a lift into town this morning as he was returning his hire car, which we were pleased to accept.  It was about a 15-minute drive, along roads that could have been anywhere in England.  He dropped us off in a modern town centre where we spent a couple of hours wandering around.   We wanted to get local SIM cards for our phones and a data SIM for the wifi router.  We found a couple of mobile phone shops and made enquiries to establish which network has the best coverage, before buying the SIMs we wanted from Telstra.  We then stocked up on a few food items from the supermarket before getting a taxi back to the marina.
Warm banana bread for breakfast – a local speciality.                                   Ready to hit the shops now!
A modern town centre complete with shopping malls.                                    An older building – Coffs Harbour Hotel built in 1937. The town had a very nice feel to it, and all the locals we met were friendly and helpful.  We were beginning to be pleased the weather had made us divert to Coffs – such a nice introduction to Australia. |
