There being only 20
nmiles or so from Aigina to Piraeus, we did not hurry to leave the anchorage,
and spent the morning swimming and chilling out. Steve and James took the
rib ashore to get fresh bread for lunch, and we set off soon
after.
We soon realised
that perhaps this had not been the best plan. We had 5 knots of wind on
the nose and seas we would have associated with a lot more wind, and progress
beating into it was very slow. After a while we decided that we were not
making enough headway under sail, and so we motor-sailed the rest of the
way.
We arrived at Zea
Marina late afternoon and were shown into a berth and our lines taken. It
made a nice change to have a lazy line and help with mooring. This will be
our base for the next couple of days.
