After a late
breakfast of bacon and eggie bread, we set off back to Skiathos. Our
destination was Koukounaries bay which has a very popular beach with lots of
water sports, which Lee was keen to have a go at. He had suggested Chris
might join him in parasailing but had been told in no uncertain terms that this
was unlikely!
Another good sail
across, and this time Lee actually spotted some dolphins. They were not in
a playful mood unfortunately, so didn't come close to the boat, but came close
enough to be seen - at last!
We arrived in
Koukounaries bay in time for lunch and dropped the anchor. By now there
was a brisk onshore breeze and this, coupled with the deep water, swell and wash
made us reconsider whether we should leave the boat to go ashore. We had
lunch while we thought about it and then decided that it would be best to move
on to Skiathos town harbour, and visit Koukounaries tomorrow when we have
planned to hire a car to explore the island inland.
