Having spent an extra night in Dartmouth because of the weather, we decided to make straight for Plymouth while the winds were fair. Problems with the main autopilot on the way meant that the first thing we did on arrival (actually just before arrival!) was to ring the local Raymarine guys to arrange for them to look at it asap. Some old and undersized wiring appeared to be the problem, which they replaced the same day. We went out into the Sound to try it out, and at the same time did several 360's to swing the compasses on both. Fingers crossed it is now ok.
We are now in Mayflower Marina, alongside Serafina, a Najad 460 owned by Rob and Sarah that we had met recently on a First Aid course. There are about ten boats here now for the Rally, and another five expected tomorrow.
We have sent the Yankee off to the sail loft because we noticed the sacrificial strip was torn in a couple of places, and that's due back Saturday morning. Tomorrow we will go into town to get stores for the trip. Then it's just a few final jobs before the off on Sunday. Looking forward to seeing James and Tom who are coming to see us off. Can't wait to get going now...
