Up very early today for our coach trip to the lost city of Sergilla, about four hours drive away.  This is one of the best preserved of the ‘dead’ cities in northern Syria, having grown up along a trade route.  The presence of Baths, built in 473 AD shows how prosperous the town was.  It died out, however, in the 7th Century when the trade route was abandoned.
