Wednesday 15th
October
After a hot climb up
the hillside in Tomb Bay we had lunch on the boat and then slipped our
moorings headed for Fethiye, across the bay.  The wind was behind us at
first and so we sailed under both headsails for a while.  Typically though
the wind eventually died and so we motored into Fethiye.
We had been advised
to avoid the big, main marina there and go for a small one just beyond it, where
the prices were much lower and were reduced by 50% if you ate in their
restaurant.  Sounded like a good deal so we went for it.  At this time
of year we have had no problem finding spaces, even arriving quite late in the
afternoon, so were soon tied up and plugged in.
There was time only
for showers, drinks and dinner that evening, but the following morning we went
into town on the Dolmus.  We first had a look at the amphitheatre
remains

before doing a spot
of shopping in the old town for souvenirs and presents for home.  James
bought a genuine fake watch - apparently he has to remember not to adjust the
calendar between 10p.m. and 2 a.m. or it will cause the watch
damage!
