                | This morning the anchorage became rather
rolly. After swimming to scrape the rest of the goose barnacles from the hull and
cleaning the water log I set sail for Tahuata.Swimming is slighty risky I
believe because of absence of reef to keep sharks away. But I did notice the
localkids . Tahuata is only 6nm and an easy sail.On the lee
side I passed superb coves but already occupied with yachts so I kept on
to Anse Hanamiai and anchored by myself off a most picturesce village .The
setting is superb.High cliffs with a smal beach and a valley full of palms going
into the mountain behind.Centre of the beach is a tiny red roofef church. Will go
ashore in the morning. For any sailors who may reed this I shall put
together some comments on the Pacific crossing if there is a demand.Let me know
via my home e mail or yachting monthly scuttlebut. This will be when I eventually
have internet myself. chris |
