We passed a few milestones today, less than 750
miles to go, or 3/4 of the way there, and then less than a Fastnet race, this is
one of our favourite measures since we have completed four, usually taking 5
days, so hopefully we can beat that by a day at least.
the wind looks to be getting lighter, and for much
of the day we had lesss than 15 knots, which since the wind is nearly dead
behind us is our slowest point of sail, and we often cannot head dorectly to our
destination.
We are all looking forward to arriving in Hiva Oa
in the Marquesas after our single longest leg, and it looks like 6 boats will
arrive within a few ours of each other. Sapare a thoughts for some of the fleet
further east, they may be another 10 days at sea, that will make it 26 or maybe
more days at sea.
