A great afternoon and evening sail, in company with
our fellow World ARC boat Garlix, an XP44 from Germany. The sailing was
great until about 1000 this morning when the wind started to drop, and drop and
drop, from expecting 25 to 30 knots, which we had last night and a fast
passage in. The wind then eventually dropped to only 5 knots, from dead
behind with a 1.5 knot tide against us, so we reluctantly at 1438 UTC
-4 started to motor, so at least we could be in tonight rather than face a
night of the same as the day, it isnt a race apparently!
Looking forward to getting to Santa Marta now, some
big mountain ranges we can see already.
Will let you know tomorrow how we get
on,
John
