The island of Morea is much smaller than Tahiti and is very charming and beautiful. We celebrated Vicky’s birthday with our friends from the Yachts Alcedo and Wishanger they all came across to Carango for champagne [help stock check necessary - quite a lot of them] and then we went for supper with Brian and Claudine on their wonderful Oyster 62.

The volcano, long extinct, has left very impressive ‘plugs’ towering towards the sky and often with their own microclimate of cloud.

In the morning we found the most beautiful Jack Nicklaus designed golf course - so we had to play that which was good exercise [at least for George who pulled his trolley instead of choosing the golf cart!

There were many of these intriguing and inquisitive Polynesian blackbirds with yellow flashes.
