Progress continues well with NNE  - NE winds averaging 18Kts and gusting up to 30 Kts. It has been an exciting and lively 48 hours. Positioned well South and in the westerly Equatorial current we gybed Carango just before dusk last night. The pole had been rigged flying firstly the big Gennaker and latterly the Yankee on the port tack. On recovering the pole we discovered significant damage rendering the pole out of use until, repairs can be effected. The sheer force involved in such damage bears witness to the forces involved in sailing a large yacht.

It looks repairable if we can find a metalsmith in ST Lucia. I plan to design a collar .

After filleting the morning catch:

We took a delicious breakfast of cereal, oranges and fresh coffee.
