Carango rounded the Southern Cape of South Africa at 18.15 local time [16.15 GMT/UTC] om Wednesday 30th November 2106. The Cape of Good Hope is actually some miles further North and West and close to Cape Town. It is a fairly awe inspiring spot but was quote tame when we were there - luckily.

We rounded this Southern Cape in 15 its of SW wind and a magnetic variation of 26 degrees West at slack current which changed to a favourable current as we were South abeam the cape. More luck than judgement I might add!

As we approached Mark did his laundry

Willie very generously popped a bottle of Champagne

We shot through at 9+ knots.

And we were witness to a frenzied feeding of thousands of sea birds on what must have been a mighty shoal of small fish and a spectacular sunset.
