A very large log just off the bow suddenly “blew” a mighty water spout and presented itself as a WHALE! We have seen plenteous dolphins but did not expect to ‘score’ a whale in the Straight of Messina. Perhaps he was feeding off the water shooting South through the Straight. Not an easy subject tp photograph but we were scarily close and there was no doubt what it was.

We passed thought the Straights against a small current.

Relaxed.
