We are now in the final third of this mighty Ocean - our instrumentation shows just 940 miles to go - so we are doing well.

We have all been inspired by Nick Row who has been assiduously studying French language - and of course = nous avons Geoffrey Cardozo on board so we have all been speaking in French not of the crossing - Mon Dieu!
Nick being studious - lots pluperfects, subjunctives and gerunds to puzzle over.

DRAMA #1 -  We, in an effort to acquit ourselves well, continued to fly the huge genakker for slightly too long as the and strengthened and it has ripped from top to bottom and left to right - it is in short in shreds!! We managed to get it down and tidied away and have replaced it with the poled out yankee.

DRAMA #2 - We have been fishing for the last several days and have hooked 5 fish including a large Dorado, Mahimahi and a Sword fish, of about 20lbs, on board but on each occasion despite a desperate struggle the fish have always got the better of us and escaped. Well this evening all that changed - YES WE HAVE FINALLY DONE IT. We have hooked, landed and caught and killed a monster Blue Marlin weighing in at about 45lbs - it measured about 5 feet long and too about an hour to reel in a fight to the end. We were all four of us involved in this epic feat.
Nick gallantly photographed the killer team -  we got him!!!!!!! What a struggle we had getting him on board must have lost a good hour of sailing. But we are very happy with the result and there is no doubt about what is on the menu tonight for supper.
  WELL DONE TEAM CARANGO.

Now relaxing with a drink and surveying another fabulous sunset.
